In L4D’s survival co-op mode, which takes place right after the zombie apocalypse, you can cut through the infected in four different “movies.” You’ll have to lead your survivors across the rooftops of an empty city, through rural ghost towns, and through pitch-black forests as you try to escape Ground Zero, which is full of infected enemies. Each “movie” has five large maps that can be played by one to four real people, with a focus on tactics and goals that are best accomplished as a team.

A brand-new tech called “the AI Director” makes each game you play feel completely different. The Director changes how often and how badly the zombies attack based on how well you do, making you feel like you’re in a fast-paced but not too scary Hollywood horror movie.
