FTL: the free add-on, is now out! There is now a new alien race, events, weapons, playable ships, drones, and more! It also includes more music by Ben Prunty, events by Tom Jubert, and writing by guest artist Chris Avellone. If you already have FTL, the new material should be added automatically. Anyone who buys the game after this point will get the Advanced Edition for free.

In FTL, you feel what it’s like to be in charge of a spaceship that’s trying to save the world. The mission is dangerous, and each meeting brings a new problem with more than one way to solve it. What are you going to do if a lot of missiles hit your shields and wipe them out? Change all the power to the engines to try to get away, get more guns to blow your enemy out of the sky, or go after them with a boarding party? When you play this “spaceship simulation roguelike-like,” you can lead your ship and crew on an adventure through a galaxy that is randomly created and full of both great wins and painful losses.
