Navigate the masked deceptions and deadly magic of a vividly Venetian city in this fully voiced pause-for-tactics RPG: Religion has no power in the troubled Citte della Ombre. Ombrians will only be remembered after they die through the songs they sing about their good deeds. People with even the tiniest bit of power will do everything they can to make sure their songs live on. Here come the Mascherines, masks that give their wearers the power to call on the elements and use harmful magic.

The Mascherines have kept up a culture of injustice between the wealthy upper classes, the Contadani, and the power-hungry guildsmen, the Masquerada. Rebels from the Contadani group started a long civil war because the Masquerada gave them Mascherines. Since then, the Citte has been scarred by distrust.

Cicero Gavar, one of Ombre’s best detectives, was sent away five years ago for a crime against the state. But now he is called back to Ombre to help solve the mystery of who kidnapped the minister Razitof Azrus. As more members of the Masquerada join his investigation, they will all have questions about each other because of the culture of lying. Their faith will be tested to the limit as they look into Ombre and discover a deeper plot.
