The Game: This game is different from all the others. You can make huge battles with no boundaries at all. Do you want to see 10,000 chickens fight a Roman army? Okay, why not? Want to see a group of US forces from WWII fight 11,000 soldiers from the Middle Ages? In Epic Battle Simulator, there are no limits to how much damage you can do. Play with a huge number of different units. Roman centurions, soldiers from the Middle Ages, knights, orcs, trolls, and even chickens! The main idea behind this game is to let the player do whatever he wants. That’s why we chose not to limit the number of units that can fight. Want to see what 100,000 units fighting looks like? Most machines shouldn’t go over 10,000, but it’s your CPU, so do what you want! Besides that, you can play as any of the game’s units, getting close to help turn the tides of a huge fight while rallying your team and telling them what to do!

Technology: Sadly, there are not many tools where you can put 10,000 characters and expect them to work well. So, I spent months making the most powerful crowd drawing system in Unity engine that had ever been thought of. It doesn’t matter much about the details of each character as long as they act on their own and work toward the better good of their team. Each person chooses his own road and finds his way through complicated environments. I didn’t stop there, though! The open worlds were very big, so I needed a lighting system that was more active than the one that came with Unity. I made my own dynamic global illumination lighting engine because of this. This makes it possible for light to bounce in real time. What does that mean? That means that every piece of shiny armor shows what’s really around it, and every bright surface lights up what’s around it and changes the lighting as a whole.
