The famous explorer with red hair Adol Christin wakes up in the strange land of Celceta, but he can only remember his name. Adol, who has no memory of his past, walks around the town he stumbled upon, looking for any sign of who he is. Along with a thief who says he’s spent some time with him in the past few weeks, the young explorer helps save trapped miners from an avalanche, which makes the local Romun Army general like him. Because of how good they are, they are asked to explore the Great Forest of Celceta and make a plan of its huge areas. Many people have tried to do this before, but no one has ever come back alive.

Adol sets out with his new-old thief friend Duren to find the wild territory that took his memories. He wants to figure out what happened in his past and why he is in this situation. Along the way, he meets a lot of people who look like they’ve seen him before, and he has to carefully decide which ones he can trust.

Nihon Falcom, the company that made the cult classic Ys IV, brought back the world and characters of that game in 2012 with Ys: Memories of Celceta for the PlayStation Vita. The next year, the game came out in North America. Now, this re-imagining moves from small screens to PC panels, with a lot of changes and improvements made to make the most of its new home.

With a new take on the party-based combat system that’s become standard in modern Ys games and one of the biggest and most varied overworlds in the series’ long and illustrious history, Ys: Memories of Celceta adds more adventure to the Ys universe than ever before. This PC version is the definitive version of one of the franchise’s most important games.
