Instead of each Investigator using the models of other Investigators and not being seen as a unique character, Skins are used to change the look of the Investigator and slightly change their stats. Anyone who used a different Investigator’s model has turned into a skin. Things also have skins.

The Investigators’ stats have changed a lot. They now have seven stats, and all of them can be greater than or less than five, which is the norm. All six numbers from White Noise Online are back, but all of them have new names except for the Speed and Flashlight stats. The Vitality stat tells you how fast the Creature will eat an Investigator if it gets caught. Speed, Horror, Perception, Light Resistance, Strength, Skill Usage, and Idol Influence are some of the stats that have been added to creatures.

Creatures don’t work quite the same way as they did in the first two White Noise games. They are now less resistant to light and move more slowly when it hits them. When hit by a flashlight, they become stunned and have to move away, which is known as “banishing”.

  • The investigators are back: As an agent, you should look around the area, work with your partners, and avoid getting lost. If you do, the creature will find you easily. Don’t go crazy, and keep an eye on the flashlight power level so you don’t go blind.
  • And the creature as well: As the animal, you have to sneak up on your food and kill them without being seen. If you want to avoid getting stunned by light, use your powers to do damage to the agents and make them easier to catch. Call up totems that will let you know when investigators are close and stop them from taking the eight tapes before you finish them.
  • Back from the grave: In White Noise 2, you can still play after you die. As a ghost, you can rise and use your better exploration skills to help the other agents with their search.
  • Unlock new items: As you play, you can unlock new characters and flashlights. These can be original White Noise Online characters. They all specialize in different things and have different skills.
